Cairns’ Reef, Rainforest & Kuranda Skyrail & Scenic Rail

Get ready for three amazing day tours, where you’ll take in the best sights, experiences and tourism attractions Cairns and North Queensland has to offer. We start with the Great Barrier Reef. This full-day tour provides you with up to 5 hours at the reef, visiting 2 reef sites, with plenty of time for snorkelling and the option to add up to scuba dives (at an additional cost). From saltwater to freshwater, the second day takes you deep into the heart of the Daintree Rainforest World Heritage Area. Swim in the cool waters of Mossman Gorge, take in the views of Cape Tribulation Beach, where the reef meets the rainforest, and watch for crocodiles on a 1-hour Daintree River Cruise. Day 3 is all about Kuranda Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, Kuranda Scenic Railway, and the Village in the Rainforest. There’s plenty of time for shopping, sightseeing, and just enjoying our unique tropical vibes. The best of Cairns and Tropical North Queensland. Itinerary

Day 1: Cairns to the Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is an international icon and now it’s your time to experience it for yourself. This amazing full day tour takes you to the Great Barrier Reef, with up to 6 hours spent exploring it from above and below the water. Enjoy unlimited snorkeling, with equipment and instruction provided, at 2 different reef sites. Want to try scuba diving for the first time? You can add it for an additional cost, and plenty of time to just relax on board the boat too. This great value day tour is packed with inclusions. All meals and snacks, including a bacon and egg roll in the morning, fresh buffet lunch, iced water and tea and coffee throughout the day with cheese, wine and biscuits served on the way back. There’s complimentary sunblock available on board the boat and an interactive Marine Biology presentation, will reveal the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef ecosystem and some of its creatures. If you’re staying in the Cairns CBD, bus transfers to and from your accommodation to the boat are included. There’s an extra charge for those on the Northern Beaches. All snorkel and dive equipment and instruction are provided and included in the tour price. BYO towel.

Day 2: Daintree Rainforest & Cape Tribulation
Today it’s all about the Wet Tropics World Heritage listed Rainforest, with a premium day tour to the Daintree National Park. You’ll travel in small group style, aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Stopping to enjoy the sights, sounds and ambience of this complex tropical environment, throughout the day. We start with pick-ups from Cairns and the Northern Beaches. Those guests will enjoy a scenic tour on the Great Barrier Reef drive, to Port Douglas. After collecting any additional guests it’s a quick trip to the top of Flagstaff Hill lookout for views over 4 Mile Beach. From here, we head to the rainforest, starting our exploration at Mossman Gorge. After a cold drink, or local tea and coffee, you’ll take a guided tour of the Gorge, with the option of swimming in the crystal-clear waters. Afterwards, enjoy a restaurant lunch with choice of meals, before we continue our adventure with a 1-hour cruise on the mighty Daintree River. Then we head into the Daintree National Park and explore the rainforest, on a guided boardwalk tour. We visit the famous Cape Tribulation Beach, where the reef meets the rainforest, and stop by a local Daintree Ice-Cream Company in the afternoon. Here you have the option of purchasing a tropical fruit ice-cream (at your own expense), before we head back to Port Douglas, the beaches and Cairns. BYO towel if you want to swim at Mossman Gorge.

Day 3: Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, Kuranda Village, Kuranda Scenic Railway
In the morning you travel from  Cairns on Kuranda Scenic Railway. This historic journey takes you back through the Barron Gorge National Park, providing a completely different and complementary experience to Skyrail. Another great day, in our natural paradise. Kuranda is a quaint village, full of markets, shops, boutiques, cafes, galleries, restaurants and tourist attractions. It also has self-guided walking trails. Enjoy a few hours here, where you can tailor your time to suit your interests. Lunch is at your own expense. Skyrail Rainforest Cableway glides just metres over the rainforest on a 7.5km journey, from Kuranda  to Caravonica. Travelling in 6-person gondola cabins, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Barron Gorge National Park, Barron Gorge itself and Barron Falls. There’s two mid-station stops along the way, where you can explore the rainforest on boardwalks and pathways, including a cantilevered bridge over the Gorge. The Skyrail journey from Kuranda takes around 90-minutes, if you stop at both the Red Peak and Barron Falls Stations. Stopping is highly recommended, there’s Ranger guided tours and a range of interpretive displays and materials. Skyrail ends at Cairns.

Can you choose which day you do each tour?
Yes, you can we normally allocate Day 1 Reef and Daintree on Day 2, and Day 3 is Kuranda But if you prefer them in a different order, please write your preference in the “Comments” box when making a booking.
What time does the 3 day tour package pick up and return to Cairns
  • Reef Tour Check In at 8:00am to ‘B’ finger, Cairns Marina, and return around  4.30-5.00pm
  • Daintree Tour pick up times commence at 7.00am and return around 6.30-7.00pm
  • Kuranda Tour pick up times commence at 8.15am and return around 4.00pm
Which Reef sites do we visit?
Depending on weather conditions on the day, out of the 3 sites (Hastings Reef, Norman Reef, Saxon Reef) the best 2 are selected.
