Itinerary

Day 1: Darwin to Kakadu
Pick up at 8-8.15am from your nominated accommodation in Darwin. We start our Kakadu tour by heading towards the world heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, with a stopover at the iconic Australiana Bark Hut for a quick refreshment. Arriving in Kakadu, enjoy a picnic-style lunch at Anbangbang Billabong with panoramic views across the billabong towards Burrunguy (Nourlangie Rock). After lunch, explore the galleries at the base of Burrunguy and learn about the stories behind the rock art, as well as the area’s spiritual significance to the traditional owners. Then, climb to the top of Gunwhardewharde lookout for a spectacular view over the Arnhem Land Escarpment and the surrounding woodlands. Tonight, we stay at our accommodation, where you can enjoy a relaxing swim in the pool before joining a 2-hour Sunset Cruise on the famous Yellow Waters. Here we will have the opportunity to see spectacular wildlife, including abundant birdlife and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Return to our accommodation for dinner, which is at your own expense. (Accommodation will be a combination of Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel and/or the Cooinda Lodge, Kakadu. The itinerary may change slightly due to schedule adjustments, but the highlights remain the same. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you require an itinerary breakdown.) Walking distance: 2km Meals: Lunch included. Dinner is at your own expense.
Day 2: Kakadu
This morning, after a healthy breakfast, we head to Gunlom Falls in the Southern end of Kakadu. A hike to the top is rewarded with a swim in the naturally occurring infinity pools whilst taking in the panoramic views of Southern Kakadu. The bottom plunge pool is a must-see with its oasis-style beach and a beautiful place for another swim before some lunch. This afternoon, we will visit Maguk (Barramundi Gorge). A 1 km hike through a paperbark forest and some rock scrambling leads to the plunge pool for a cool swim in a pristine environment. Tonight, we will stay at our accommodation in Jabiru. Dinner tonight is at your own expense in the restaurant. (Accommodation will be a combination of Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel and/or the Cooinda Lodge, Kakadu. The itinerary may change slightly due to schedule adjustments, but the highlights remain the same. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you require an itinerary breakdown.) Walking distance: 5 km Meals: Breakfast & lunch included. Dinner is at your own expense.
Day 3: Kakadu – Darwin
We start our day with a short drive to the Northern boundary of Kakadu. Stop & enjoy the sights of the tidal East Alligator River with the opportunity to spot some crocs and flying foxes! We then travel on to the world-famous Ubirr in the North of the park. Some of the best examples of Northern Australian rock art can be found here. Discover the art and the meaning behind these special paintings with your guide. A climb to the top is rewarded with staggering 360º views over the Nardab floodplains and into Arnhem Land. From here, we start to make our way to Darwin, stopping off at Mamukala Wetlands for some bird watching and views, and then on to the world-famous Humpty Doo Hotel for a cold drink before returning to Darwin at approximately 5pm. Walking distance: 3km Meals: Breakfast & lunch included.
