This package is a combination of our exclusive, half-day 4WD Rainforest / Waterfall adventure tour and half-day Green Island tour. It allows you to combine the reef and rainforest into one amazing, memory making experience. It begins with a visit to the rainforest, including an area that is not open to the public. You’ll see the mighty Barron Falls, transition from rainforest to outback savannah and have the chance to swim at Davies Creek. This is small group touring at its best and your naturalist, accredited guide will provide informative commentary on the rainforest and its unique plants and animals. In the afternoon it’s a fast catamaran cruise to Green Island, part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Enjoy two hours on the island, where you can relax on the golden beaches and have the choice of snorkeling (equipment provided) or taking a glass bottom boat tour, on the fringing reef.
- Please note this tour is not suitable for children under 4, unless on a Private Charter.
- Don’t forget to bring your swimming gear
Get set for one amazing day tour, which starts with the Wet Tropics Rainforest and ends with time on a Great Barrier Reef island. It all begins when our accredited, naturalist guide collects you from your Cairns city accommodation. We take you up the Kuranda Range and provide a short tour around Kuranda Village, with a stop at the mighty Barron Falls. From here, we head off-road for some soft four-wheel driving.
Our exclusive access permit allows us to take you to areas not open to the public. Crossing rainforest streams and climbing over some of the Great Dividing Range mountains. See ancient King Ferns and then stop at the Clohesy Boardwalk, where you take a guided botanical tour which includes seeing a giant strangler fig tree. The next stop is Davies Creek, a picturesque setting, where you have the option to refresh in the always crystal clear, cold waters. As we head back to Cairns to catch the catamaran, we’ll pause at the Termite Roadside Fruit Stall, where you can sample exotic, tropical fruits.
In the afternoon, board a comfortable catamaran for a fast transfer to Green Island. This island has a permanent resort and you’re welcome to make use of its bar, bistro and swimming pool facilities. With two hours on the island, you have the choice between taking a glass bottom boat tour or snorkeling off the beach and under the jetty, to see fish and corals. One of these activities is included in the tour price, so you can customise your island visit to suit your preferences. Relax on the golden beaches and listen to the waves, before cruising back to Cairns.
